Painted Caves seamlessly transform their Arab-American musical heritage with Western jazz-rock experimentation to create a fresh and potent sound. The group meld traditional folk and jazz instruments such as the oud, daf, trumpet & flute with a hypnotic rhythm section of guitar, bass, percussion & drums and lyrical hooks to create a meditative, psychedelic dance experience.

A favorite of the festival circuit in the US Midwest, they have made frequent appearances at Summerfest (2015/2017), Chill on the Hill (2014,2016), Madison's La Fete de Marquette, the Lake Moon Festival, Summer Soulstice Festival, Milwaukee Psych Fest, Orton Park Festival (2016) and many more. The group made their international debut at the Amarrass Music Festival in India in 2014, and toured Belgium and Denmark in Spring 2017. Painted Caves have also performed at art installations and conceptual works at institutions such as Milwaukee Art Museum (MAM) and Madison's Museum of Contemporary Art (MMoCA).

The band's self-titled debut release (2015, Amarrass Records) has been a fixture on college radio stations in the US and was on the CMJ Charts in 2015, with radio plays on BBC, PRI, WBEZ, and many more.​
